perspective on issues affecting human livelihood. Topics range through physical and social science themes including global climate change, environmental hazards such as storm, flood, volcanic action to problems associated with exploitation and use of natural resources, globalization and sustainable development. The field course concentrates on a regional context and on techniques for measuring physical landscape.
